OUR FAVOURITE PLACES

Our favourite places:

Tyneham Village

Often referred to as Dorset’s ‘lost’ village, Tyneham was evacuated in December 1943, as the area was needed for military training, but after the war ended the villagers were not allowed to return.

You can see and explore some of the original buildings, such as “The Row”, a few of the buildings have been fenced off for safety and preservation. However both the restored Church and School buildings are still intact and have exhibitions about the village and villagers. At Tyneham Farm, some of the outbuildings have also been restored.
