If you’re looking for something a little different during your stay in Weymouth, SandWorld is our latest favourite local attractions.
Located in Lodmoor Country Park, SandWorld is the UK’s only sand sculpture festival, featuring large-scale artworks created entirely from sand and water by internationally renowned artists.
Each year, new sculptures are created on-site, with themes ranging from animals and film characters to detailed, original pieces, all crafted from over 2,000 tonnes of sand.
It’s an easy, relaxed visit that works whatever the weather, with plenty to explore and even the chance to try sand sculpting yourself.
We were lucky enough to attend the seasonal opening this year, and it’s safe to say it’s a brilliant addition to any Weymouth itinerary, whether you’re visiting as a couple or with family.
