Abbotsbury Sub Tropical Gardens

One of Britain’s best-known and best-loved gardens.

Established in 1765 by Elizabeth, the first Countess of Ilchester, as a kitchen garden for her nearby castle. These magnificent Victorian walled gardens are set in 20 acres of woodland valley.
The unique micro climate enables rare and exotic species from all over the world to thrive.

Facilities include the Colonial Restaurant, a quality gift shop, a superb plant centre where many of the flowers grown in the Garden can be purchased and stunning views of the Dorset Jurassic Coast from the viewpoint at the top of Magnolia Avenue.
